Actions for the Development of BeLeaf S.A.

If we were to summarize the "secret of success" in running stable and profitable Paulownia plantations based on all our business experiences in one word, it would certainly be KNOWLEDGE.

Without it – there is no amount of energy and money that couldn't be lost in any investment, not just forestry.

Mother Nature is definitely not the kind of business partner you can negotiate with like a company. You can't bribe spring to arrive when you need it, nor can you order a delivery of rain via the postal service. You can't get a promissory note from trees guaranteeing a certain annual growth, nor can you sign a notarial agreement with moles and voles guaranteeing they won't gnaw on the roots of young plants.

We haven't tried negotiating with rabbits, wild boars, and moose (despite their numerous visits and close encounters), and here we admit – we don't even have a bargaining chip, as the first have a numerical advantage, the second are stronger, and the third are protected. A few years ago, we managed (after a 2-hour chase) to drive young deer off a 10-hectare plantation, but unfortunately, they returned with friends a week later…

There have been more humorous situations in our career, but for those of us working overtime because of them – and our budget excel sheets – it wasn't always a laughing matter. However, thanks to all these experiences, gathered by us and our partner companies – today we can boast knowledge that allows us to avoid hundreds of mistakes and forms the core of the technology that methodically and effectively leads to profitable Paulownia plantations.

Striving for the highest quality and the desire to match the largest companies in the EU and the world (e.g. Spanish Cotevisa or German WeGrow) in the near future requires us and our technologists to constantly educate and improve in the practiced art – so that our clients and investors can always sleep peacefully.

Academic Collaboration

In our opinion, Polish intellectual capital in the academic field remains deeply underestimated by the business sector. Therefore, since 2020, we have actively collaborated with top scientists from Agricultural Universities in Krakow, Wrocław, Rzeszów, and Poznań, including during the development of methods for calculating the sequestration of the carbon footprint by Paulownia trees for applications to the National Centre for Research and Development. Additionally, Polish Economic Universities have rightly aimed to develop debate and dialogue around the ESG sector in recent years.

Collaboration
with Individual Farmers

It is not just a contractor-company relationship.

It is HUNDREDS of evening, sometimes night hours spent by the management of Oxygen Forest Poland in conversations with people who have been working in the agricultural field for years.

Thanks to intensive consultations with growers from all over Poland, who have been starting the first Paulownia plantations in our country since 2016, we practically know all possible threats and ways to deal with them – invaluable empirical knowledge, gained through thousands of trials and errors and huge capital expenditures, is accumulated and developed at BeLeafSA.

One might say (not so jokingly...) that coming from the finance and stock market industry, we have also done accelerated agricultural studies 🙂

Collaboration
with Leading Companies Worldwide

Since we started our adventure with Paulownia trees in 2018, we have been striving to find the best in the world in the field of its cultivation, so that in the future we can match the highest possible standards. We are convinced that building a stable market for Paulownia tree planting in Poland is not a question of "if?" but "when?", as many EU countries and others around the world have already managed to do so. Collaboration with our foreign partners involves not only dozens of conversations and webinars with their chief technologists, but also active purchasing and testing of Paulownia varieties developed by them in the Polish climate.

In our product range, we are the only ones who select for planting only those certified Paulownia clones that have satisfactorily completed the full growth cycle in Polish climatic conditions.

Blockchain Technology

We are actively involved in developing solutions that combine the timber industry, known to humanity for thousands of years, with the possibilities of modern technologies in the emerging ESG investment market. We believe that corporate carbon footprint reduction records, authenticated on the blockchain, solve one of the key transparency issues in off-balance sheet reporting – just as has been the case in the United States for several years. Therefore, since 2022, we have been in an intensive process of developing econometric models and necessary analyses and have already selected subcontractors to collaborate on this endeavor. All of this is also done using the expertise of our legal partners to achieve full acceptance and cooperation with financial market regulatory institutions in Poland and abroad.

We will publicly announce the launch of this project on the market upon its completion.

We also encourage you to read the peer-reviewed scientific article by President Michał Wyszyński, reviewed at the Warsaw School of Economics, where you will find more information on this topic.
